Understand Your Car's Exhaust System

Your vehicle's exhaust system serves two very important purposes. The first is to vent the gases that are created during the internal combustion process out of the back. The second is to clean and filter those gases before releasing them into the environment. If either one of these functions is reduced or fails to function properly, it can be dangerous for the driver and the environment.

When your car burns gas and air, there are always leftover gases from the process. These gases consist of dangerous and poisonous substances like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and carbon particulates. If the driver breathes these in, they can become extremely sick or it can even be fatal. The exhaust system also works to scrub those gases and filter them as much as possible.

If it has been a while since you had your vehicle's exhaust system inspected, you should give our auto service department here at Napleton's Autowerks of Indiana, Inc. a call right away.
